Vision Statement
Our goal at The Banff Aspen Lodge is to continually strive to improve our customer service, room cleanliness and maintenance in order to better meet the needs of our clients.
Regular staff meetings, intervention programs, courses and safety drills along with staff incentives, will ensure staff are knowledgeable, efficient and ensure targets are set and achieved within specified times allocated.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report on time, in uniform and well groomed as specified in handbook
  • Effectively assist with managing the housekeeping department
  • To be knowledgeable with all hotel policies
  • Assist in the training, performance appraisals and supervision of all housekeeping personnel
  • Deal with disciplinary action such as uniforms, grooming, tardiness and job performance directly and immediately with the employee
  • Be a leader and a motivator to the housekeeping staff
  • To approach all employees with diplomacy and respect
  • Ensure cleanliness, good working order and tidy appearance of all guest accommodations and public areas
  • Ensure that all maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and public areas are reported to the maintenance department
  • To maintain a proper control on all lost and found items and to ensure they are forwarded to guests on a timely basis
  • Discuss all changes and potential dismissals with the Housekeeping Manager or General Manager prior to action
  • Being active in the preparation and presentation of staff meetings
  • Able to perform all room attendant and houseperson duties
  • Perform required paperwork and inventories in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager
  • To give the best service and assistance to all hotel guests and visitors
  • Make guests feel welcome by exhibiting and maintaining a positive, friendly and courteous attitude at all times
  • To be familiar with all accommodations and facilities
  • To know the Health and Safety Policy and Emergency Plan of the hotel
  • To understand the Health and Safety Program along with practicing safe work practices
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, consistent with hotel policy
  • Ensure that environmental policies are followed
  • Must physically be able to move freely while checking the cleanliness of the hotel
  • To assist in maintaining the staff house (i.e. inspections, bedding, keys and problems)
  • Assist in preparation for wine and cheese parties and tea and cookie parties
  • To be active in The Banff Aspen Lodge social events for employees
  • Liaise with other department as required
  • Constantly looking for ways to improve the hotel, employee moral and customer satisfaction
  • Be informed about local attractions and events and how to access additional information
  • Any other associated duties as required
